2014 Pine Ridge Trail
May 24 th.
Once again I hiked the Pine Ridge trail , this time with a friend Mark of SLO .
The weather was a beautiful spring day as we trekked from China Camp to the ridge , a distance of approximately eight miles . We made camp and enjoyed a steak dinner cooked over an open fire . Then all hell broke loose as the mother of all storms brought us rain , wind , and snow , then rain again on the second night which washed away the snow and left us with Ice covered trees . The ice covered trees made for a beautiful hike off the ridge through a winter wonder land , with large ice chunks dropping all around us as the sun warmed and melted the ice . I am only posting a couple of photos as last month I made this same trip and posted many photos of same .
