Cat Track on trail
On my Cerro Alto daily hikes I am seeing Cougar and deer tracks again on the bridge trail close to the campground . These trails ar very busy with hiking traffic and as a norm I don't see fresh tracks here during the day , maybe the springs up high are drying up and the wild life are getting bold in seeking water near the campground .The track below is of a yearling mountain lion , very fresh in the dust , an hour or less in age . Traffic was heavy here , winds strong . The ridges are sharp on this track .
As I said I have been seeing tracks in this area several times during the day light hours . . Keep your eyes open , you might get lucky and see a cat . I have been so lucky several times in years past . I saw a cat once this year on Cerro alto .
