Cerro Alto before the storm offers a beautiful view of coast .
Some advice for new hikers on Cerro , The weathers at the summit is often very cold and windy so be prepared . this week I met several new hikers who left their jackets hanging on tree limbs at lower levels because it was warmer wile climbing at lower levels . These hikers were very cold at the summit and expressed regret leaving their jackets below on the trails .
Wednesday , 1-4-17 rain on Cero Alto
5 and 1/2 inches of rain fell on Cerro Alto today , I hiked both the Canyon Trail and the Bridge trail and found the canyon trail not passable due to flash flooding . More rain expected on 7, 8 , and 9th -- Sat . Sun and Mon.
Note the Scout trail had flash flooding also . The ground is saturated and you can expect flooding so if you hike in the rain , be careful .
