I met this fun film crew from Hancock college of Santa Maria . They camped out and filmed for two days . 

Always good to see youth enjoying the wilderness ! 

Goat is a hiking partner

Yesterday I met this unique hiking couple , Grace and her goat  

They both hiked to the summit , three miles and 1700 feet of elevation gain  , very impressive , for sure . I wish I had seen them at the top . 

This student definitely thinks outside the box , leadership quality for sure !

Interesting people on Cerro Alto

Yesterday I met this fast hiking young lady , Katie on Cerro Alto 

She was carrying 50 lbs and doing a 20 minute mile pace 

while climbing the steepest part of the mountain trail .

This girl is a firefighter from Wyoming .

The young man shared that he was going into Marine Boot Camp 

and wanted to improve his physical conditioning by hiking .

While descending from the summit of Cerro Alto I saw this young lady Shannon of SLO who

We were approximately 1/2 mile from the top .

She continued up the mountain after dark ., but the sun set was worth it !A brave hiker !

meditating on the ATT Trail .

I Additional info these ladies hiked 1.7miles and 700ft. Elevation gain while bare foot .

I met this young family on the trail , I forget their names

Thursday afternoon I summited Cerro Alto and I met this healthy Couple at the top  ,

The young man had just proposed marriage to her . Beautiful day , beautiful couple .

I recorded their names , but due to wind noise , I am not sure I have the names

His name is Seth and hers is Brisa or Lisa .

Both are from SLO

Fast hikers and at the bottom of the mountain they left the

trail head via bicycles .

Interesting Hikers on Cerro Alto Summit

 

Yesterday I met these two students of Cal Poly at the summit of Cerro Alto

These girls are serious hikers and claim that hiking is their only sport

they have enjoyed some back packing   in the Ventana Wilderness .

Always a pleasure meeting youth enjoying hiking in the wilderness .

Saturday , I met this seasoned senior hiker on Cerro alto , always good seeing him

He used to always be accompanied by other old guys , however it seems that he

is a lone survivor . You go John !!

,sierra loves attention and these girls from Cal Poly sure know how to spoil her .

These two Cal Poly seniors are on the left Lea and on the right Melany

.Both are environmental students .

I really enjoyed my hike today as the weather was super nice on Cerro Alto and I met some interesting people .Photo below is of Ashley , I like her shirt and I was happy to have met her again as I have met her in the past hiking this mountain .

Warm spring day at the top of Cerro Alto 3-11-17

What a beautiful day on Cerro Alto , warm and no wind at the top . Many folks were enjoying the mountain today including amber , Kylie , and their dog Bear , they are camping out at the summit . Very brave of them because it is a little spooky up there at night , however they have a full moon , a sunset  and a sun rise to enjoy ! I hope I spelled the names correctly .I also hope the video works .

Saturday 10-29-16 beautiful weather hike on Cerro Alto . On the canyon trail lots of Lady Bugs and hiking traffic . We encountered  a beautiful young couple enjoying the Lady Bugs , we later met this couple enjoying the views at the summit . My dog Sierra poses with the couple for a photo .

New Cerro Alto Hiker 

I met this strong hiker on Cerro Alto yesterday , she enjoyed her summit with her dog , both enjoyed getting acquainted with Sierra  ( my Shepard ) . Amanda is this hiker's name and she is new to the north co. of San Luis Obispo . she moved here from Colorado and is a avid hiker , having hiked most of the 14 er .s of Colorado . I suggested some local long hikes per her request and she is looking forward to attempting them  . I asked her how she liked cerro Alto and she said this is a good hike and will do it again .

Yesterday I met this lovely young lady on Cerro Alto , her name is Erin , and has a brother Andrew 

 My son Luis photographed her soccer photos when she was in school and he coached her brother in cross country running team .  Small world . She is from Santa Maria and the last name I believe is Hocks .?
