Yesterday  , I found this track on the board trail on Cerro Alto , Unusual in this area , as pigs avoid these busy hiking trails , they are most likely to feed on the west ridge . Be

 careful when hiking after dark . They do attack without  warning .

Interesting people on Cerro Alto

Yesterday I met this fast hiking young lady , Katie on Cerro Alto 

She was carrying 50 lbs and doing a 20 minute mile pace 

while climbing the steepest part of the mountain trail .

This girl is a firefighter from Wyoming .

Rainy day hike on Cerro Alto , 

lots of water , I hiked wit Erik  a friend and his dogs ,

 arrow and tucker , and of course my dog Sierra 

my rain gauge at home indicated more than 8 inches in 29 hours .

While descending from the summit of Cerro Alto I saw this young lady Shannon of SLO who

We were approximately 1/2 mile from the top .

She continued up the mountain after dark ., but the sun set was worth it !A brave hiker !

the first photo is the trail head , located a few feet south of the metal fence at the entry of 

Cerro alto drive way on highway 41 .

Note the Cerro Alto summit in the second photo .

The trail is flat for a half mile along the creek and then climbs 

at a steep 24% grade to the ridge with technical spots along the climb .

The trail takes you through a small forest before reaching Cerro Alto .

 Was a cool day today with a gentle breeze from Morro Bay moving across Cerro Alto Sumit 

Time was 6 pm , temperature at the top 70 degrees
