Once again on my daily hike on Cerro Alto -- a mountain in the Las Padres national Forest near Atascadero Ca.I was standing on the west ridge of this canyon facing a 500 ft. cliff across the canyon when I saw this buck run up the east wall of this canyon . He was running from me and I could not believe my eyes , hearing the noise and seeing him run straight up ! I never would have guessed an animal could scale up such a steep cliff so fast . He once stopped to briefly look at me . and then disappeared over the ridge above me . This was a very exciting moment and I was lucky to have a long lens on my slr Canon .
